The list of advertisers featuring same-sex couples in their ads grows even longer, thanks to a new spot for Google’s Android operating system. Look for the same-sex proposal at the 18-second mark.
If I ran an ad agency, my two absolute rules would be:
1. Don’t make the client’s customers look stupid or crazy.
2. Refer to Rule 1.
That means my ad agency would never turn out ads like these for Haverty’s:
I was delighted when CVS Health released a gay-inclusive ad online last month to commemorate its new brand and name:
However, in the ad that CVS is running on teevee, the gay couple is nowhere to be found!
Look for the two dads painting with their kid.
